it was pandemic times & i had read something about a new Elon Musk venture——Neuralink, a company founded on the goal of embedding AI in human brains.
the concept sounded so dystopian & gross, it compelled me to come up with something just as ridiculous.
one person described this zine as “body horror but beautiful”——that pretty accurately encapsulates the themes i was going after. i wanted every page to glisten like the ocean, but the content to be disturbing, sort of a metaphor for the enticing nature of certain human advancements & how that can distract from negative repercussions.
at the end of the day, i hope people find this thing i spent way too much time on entertaining. i know i did, i got to draw lots of dumb half-men, half-jet-skis (in this world, they’re called Broskis).

created in collaboration with Soar Over Hate, an organization based in NYC, grounded in safety & serving the AAPI community.
Soar Over Hate tasked me with illustrating this zine, jam-packed with mighty characters of diverse ages, races, gender expressions & body sizes——all the while having comprehensive visuals of essential knowledge to equip the reader in confrontational situations.
